It's the time for the admissions into the new colleges and start a new part of your life.In the process of admissions or registrations applicants are confused about choice of college & course and get many queries in their mind. So,today the most prestigious university of India ,The Delhi university , answered the queries.
Here, is the list of some frequently asked questions that are answered by the university itself:

Q 1. Is there a single form for UG merit and entrance based courses?
A. Yes, the candidates can register for both merit based and entrance based courses using a
single online registration form. In the entrance tab if the applicant selects ‘YES’ for entrance
based courses then the applicant is applying for both merit based and selected entrance
based courses.
If the applicant selects ‘NO’ in the entrance tab then the applicant only applies for all the
merit based courses.
Q 2. The registration form has no option for filling the choices for merit based courses-
colleges, how do I apply for merit based courses and what will be admission process?
A. The candidate doesn’t have to choose the course college at this moment for merit based
courses but it has to be done at the time of declaration of cut-offs. This means that the
student registering on the admission portal shall be considered for all merit based courses
for all colleges, but admission will be granted in a particular course-college, subject to the
eligibility.
Q 3. I forgot to apply for entrance based courses while filling the admission registration
form, what should I do?
A. After payment, the admission registration form is not editable so the applicant has to
apply in a fresh form again with a new email and pay the registration fees again.
Q 4. I applied for DUJAT and gave my preferences for the colleges and submitted the form
by paying the registration fees, but now I want to edit the preferences, can I do so?
A. The applicant cannot edit the preferences right now but candidates will be given a chance
later after declaration of entrance(DUJAT) result.
Q 5. Can I apply for sports and ECA quota both in the same form?
A. Yes, the applicant can apply for both sports and ECA quota in the same form.
Q 6. I have studied additional language in Class XII but as result is not declared so I do not
have marks for the additional language but the portal is asking for its marks, what should I
do?
A. The applicant can fill it with “0” (ZERO) and complete the form. It will not affect the
eligibility of the applicant.
Q 7. Can I self-attest my mark sheet using Digi Locker app?
A. Yes, you can self-attest your mark-sheet using Digi Locker app.

Q 8. I forgot to self-attest my mark sheet during the registration process, will my form be
valid or should I apply again?
A. The candidate must show the utmost care while uploading the documents as the
documents need to be properly scanned and self-attested. But, if by mistake the candidate
forgets to self-attest the documents, then there is no need to apply again. The candidate
will be eligible for the admission process, as long as the documents uploaded are valid.
Q 9. My class XII result has not been declared so should I fill the registration form now or
wait for the result?
A. You need to register yourself on the UG Admission Portal on or before July 4, 2020, and
select results awaited. Once your result is declared then you can upload your marks on the
admission portal but registration is compulsory right now.
Q 10. Is there any reservation for students who are residents of Delhi?
A. No, the University of Delhi does not provide any such reservation to the residents of
Delhi.
Q 11. Where can I find information related to the best four evaluations for different
courses in the Bulletin of Information?
A. The information on the best four and the subjects to be included in Best Four for
different courses is given in Section 2 of the Bulletin of Information.
Q 12. How can I apply for admission to B. Ed., LLB, and Bachelor of Library and Information
Science?
A. As these are master courses, you can apply for admission to these courses in the PG
admission portal 2020 on the University of Delhi website du.ac.in.
Q 13. Will I get the benefit of my School NCC certificate in the calculation of Best Four?
A. No, you will not get any benefit from the NCC certificate in the calculation of Best Four. If
you are applying under ECA category with NCC as you ECA, then you will get the relaxation
in the cutoff based on the particular course and college seat availability.
Q 14. If I do not meet the first cutoff, then will I have to apply again for second cutoffs and
so on?
A. No, you do not need to apply again for the second cutoff. However, you need to apply
again for the course or college you want in a particular cutoff if you meet the cutoff.
Q 15. Does the University of Delhi provide reservations to Jain applicants?
A. No, there is no reservation for Jain applicants.
Q 16. Does the University of Delhi provide admission in B.Sc. (H) Biotechnology?
A. No, the University of Delhi does not provide admission in B.Sc. Biotechnology but the
subject Biotechnology is used to determine eligibility criteria for various B.Sc. courses.

Q 17. What should be the validity of my OBC certificate?
A. The applicant applying under any category should have the caste certificate(in this case
OBC non-creamy layer certificate) of the current financial year, that is issued on or after 31st
March 2020.
Q 18. How and when will the entrance based examinations be conducted?
A. Amidst the Covid-19 situations, nothing can be commented at this point. Once the
University takes any decision regarding the conduct of examinations, it will be notified
through the website. The applicants are requested to keep on checking the website
regularly.
Q 19. How will the cutoffs for courses be decided since examinations for class 12th have
not yet been conducted?
A. The cutoffs for colleges will be decided only after class 12th examinations are conducted
and their results are declared. The applicants are requested to keep on checking the website
regularly.
Q 20. How can I apply for admission to St. Stephens College/Jesus and Mary College?
A. These colleges have their own registration forms which require the applicant to fill the
registration number of their University of Delhi registration. So the applicant should first fill
the common form on the admission portal on the website, then visit the website of these
colleges and wait for notifications regarding their registration process. Further process of
registration will happen on their website.
Q 21. Is Mathematics a compulsory subject to be included in Best Four for B.A.(H)
Economics?
A. The applicant must have studied and passed Mathematics at the qualifying examination
for admission to B.A. (H) Economics. The merit shall be determined on the basis of one
language and three best academic/elective subjects as specified in List A and List B.
Q 22. I have filled the registration form twice and paid the fees twice as my previous form
was wrongly filled. Is there a way to cancel a form and refund fee?
A. The candidate is requested to exercise extreme care in filling the registration forms and
paying the registration fee since it will not be refunded in any case once the form is
submitted.
Q 23. I have a subject in my class 12th with a different name than that mentioned in the
Lists in Bulletin. What should I do?
A. You can write a mail to us on our helpdesk email at
undergraduate2020@admissions.du.ac.in. The equivalence for the particular subject will be
sent to the HOD of the colleges, and we will let you know if that subject stands eligible for
calculation of cutoff.

Q 24. Can I apply for foreign language courses besides the main graduation course? If yes,
how?
A. Yes, the candidate can apply for a diploma in foreign language courses along with their
graduation course. For this, you need to visit the website of the particular college you want
to take admission to the course in.
Q 25. What will be the dates for the entrance tests for entrance based courses?
A. A detailed schedule will be out soon, kindly keep on checking the University of 
Delhi Website.
Q 26. What will be the syllabus and pattern for the Entrance Exam?
A. Detailed syllabus and pattern for entrance exam is given in the bulletin of 
information.
